Chaidh cothrom sònraichte a thoirt do sgoiltean an Taobh Siar, bho Nis gu Càrlabhagh, ùine a chur seachad còmhla ri ‘Seinneadair Gàidhlig na Bliadhna’, Norrie ‘Tago’ MacÌomhair, a’ leasachadh sgilean ciùil agus a’ togail sgilean ciùil ùra – agus abair gun do ghabh iad an cothrom!

Chuir Iomairt Ghàidhlig Iar-Thuath Leòdhais trì làithean air dòigh aig deireadh a’ Mhàirt far an d’ fhuair an òigridh cothrom tighinn còmhla gus a’ Ghàidhlig a bhrosnachadh, beagan seinn a dhèanamh agus ionnsramaidean a chluich còmhla.

Fhuair fileantaich agus luchd-ionnsachaidh cothrom a bhith an sàs ann am bùithtean-obrach còmhla ri Marina Mhoireach, an Oifigear Iomairt, agus Norrie ‘Tago’ MacÌomhair agus abair gun robh trì làithean math aca, a’ gabhail òrain, gach cuid òrain ùra agus òrain nach eil cho ùr.

Schools on the West side of Lewis from Ness to Carloway were given a special opportunity to spend time with ‘Gaelic singer of the year’ Norrie ‘Tago’ Maciver to develop and learn new music skills – and they certainly grasped the opportunity! Iomairt Ghàidhlig Iar-Thuath Leòdhais organised the three days at the end of March where young people got the opportunity to come together to embrace their Gaelic, through singing and playing instruments together.

Fluent Gaelic speakers and learners were offered the chance to take part in the workshops with ‘Iomairt’ officer Marina Murray and Norrie ‘Tago’ Maciver, and they had three fantastic days singing both old and new songs.
